The intelligent image recognition system at Tianjin Metro Line 6 is located at Cultural Center Station, the interchange station between Line 5 and Line 6. Metro stations have dense passenger flows, multiple security check channels, and tight passenger transit times. Image recognition personnel need to complete the identification and assessment of luggage images within a relatively short period, resulting in high work intensity.

The project deploys an AI intelligent image recognition system at metro security check channels to automatically analyze parcel images output by security screening machines. It can accurately identify prohibited items in passenger parcels and mark them precisely, while providing similarity scores between recognition results and prohibited item characteristics to assist image recognition personnel in quickly locating suspicious items.

The system covers the recognition of multiple categories of prohibited items including firearms and ammunition, flammable liquids, explosives, knives, sharp instruments, blunt instruments, military and police equipment, tools, and flammable and explosive materials. It is compatible with security screening machines from different brands and can be directly integrated into existing security check channels, reducing equipment replacement costs. As an interchange station, Cultural Center Station combines transfer passenger flows with entering and exiting passenger flows, with a relatively high proportion of passengers carrying luggage, concentrating inspection pressure on security check channels. The system provides effective assistance for image recognition operations during peak hours.

In daily operations, the system performs preliminary screening of parcel images and provides alerts. Image recognition personnel conduct review and confirmation based on the alerts, forming an operational workflow of "system screening, manual review, on-site handling." Since the project was put into use, the security check image recognition efficiency at Cultural Center Station has improved, greatly reducing the pressure on security check staff, enhancing their work efficiency, and providing strong support for the daily operations of metro stations and passengers' safe travel.
