Beijing Subway Line 14 AI Intelligent Image Recognition System

The intelligent image recognition system for Beijing Subway Line 14 is located at Jiulongshan Station, the interchange station between Line 7 and Line 14. Subway stations have dense passenger flow, multiple security check channels, and tight passenger transit times. Image screeners need to complete the identification and assessment of luggage images within a relatively short period, resulting in high work intensity.

The project deploys an AI intelligent image recognition system at subway security check channels to automatically analyze parcel images output by security screening machines. It can accurately identify prohibited items in passenger parcels and mark them precisely, while providing the similarity between recognition results and prohibited item characteristics to assist screeners in quickly locating suspicious items.

The system covers the recognition of multiple categories of prohibited items, including firearms and ammunition, flammable liquids, explosives, knives, sharp instruments, blunt instruments, military and police equipment, tools, and flammable and explosive materials. It is also compatible with security screening machines from different brands and can be directly integrated into existing security check channels, reducing equipment replacement costs. As an interchange station, Jiulongshan Station experiences concentrated passenger flow during morning and evening peak hours, putting significant pressure on security check channels. The system can continuously maintain recognition response speed, providing support for the throughput efficiency of security check channels.

In daily operations, the system conducts preliminary screening of parcel images and provides prompts. Screeners review and confirm based on the prompts, forming an operational workflow of "system screening, manual review, on-site handling." Since the project was put into use, the security image recognition efficiency at Jiulongshan Station has improved, greatly reducing the pressure on security staff, enhancing their work efficiency, and providing strong support for the daily operations of subway stations and passengers' safe travel.
